There has been a lot going on with our Start the Change project over the last few months. We hosted a roundtable event at City Hall posing the question: can global learning help prevent extremism? The event was attended by teachers, students, global learning practitioners and those working in the education sector. You can view the roundtable summary here.
We have also launched our research report titled Shifting the Agenda on Education and Extremism, a full report and summary can be found on the Start the Change page.
Schools completed their student-led projects which included music videos, art pieces on identity, podcasts and zines. We have put together case studies from each school to feature in a Book of Good Ideas, which will also include case studies from Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. We have also partnered with NASUWT’s arts and mind competition to shortlist 12 finalists and choose which of the 12 shortlisted will receive the Think Global Diversity Today Award.
It has been a busy few months and there is still lots to do to ensure that projects like this make an impact in the education sector.
