CDEC exists to promote an understanding of global dimensions in ways that meet the educational and developmental needs of young people growing up in a changing, globalised society.
CDEC works in Cheshire, Halton and Warrington delivering high-quality, innovative and challenging projects and programmes that help embed the global dimension and P4C into partner organisations’ ways of thinking and operating, in order to achieve positive developmental outcomes – for those institutions and the professionals within them as well as children and young people served by them.
1. Enhance the professional capacities of teachers, through providing access to ideas and information, and by providing training and other professional development opportunities.
2. Catalyse change in schools, supporting and helping to plan and implement coherent in-school interventions, including through curriculum development, whole-school orientation, supporting the school’s direction of travel, as well as by instituting projects, training and workshops in support.
3. Work in partnership with institutions with an interest in children’s and young people’s education- including early years practitioners, ITE organisations, and Local Authorities -to promote the distinctive contribution that global learning and P4C can bring.
