Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela.
Think Global is very excited to announce the launch of this year’s Global Educator of the Year Award. This award recognises educators who have gone above and beyond in raising awareness and deepening understanding of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraging young people to take action. In previous years, we have received nominations from across the country for projects which have engaged and educated schools and their wider communities. The award scheme has received praise and support from respected national and international institutions, including Oxfam, the British Council and the The World’s Largest Lesson.
There are so many inspirational teachers leading the way in global learning in the UK. They have developed innovative techniques and approaches to engage school children and others in becoming global citizens. We believe it is important that these champions of global learning are recognised, and their excellent work profiled, to encourage and catalyse others to engage in global learning.
Could a teacher at your school be the 2018 Global Educator of the Year?
- Do you know an educator who has found creative ways to engage young people in global learning?
- Has this person raised awareness about the UN’s SDGs amongst their students and/or the whole school?
- Have they inspired students to take action on a global issue?
We know that there are teachers across the globe doing amazing work in this field, however this award is restricted to UK teachers.
