Business & NGO leaders to debate global skills

Think Global's summer breakfast debate Skills for Global Work, Skills for Global Life will bring sector leaders to debate whether young people are developing the skills they need to thrive in a globalised world. 

The debate will take place:

• 8-10am Friday 20 June 2014
• London’s Living Room, City Hall, The Queen's Walk, London, SE1 2AA

Think Global's CEO, Tom Franklin said: "There is growing interest in the skills young people need to flourish in the ever more globalised workplace. This will be reflected in the OECD’s PISA education league tables including a measure on global competences in 2018 for the first time. At the same time, it is important to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and capabilities they need to play their part in creating a fairer, better world.  What should be the balance between skills for global work, and skills for global life? Are they wholly compatible?  That's the issue that our panel and our invited audience will debate."

• Dame Julia Cleverdon DCVO, CBE, Co-Founder of Step Up To Serve Campaign
• Dan Simpson, Siemens UK's Head of Talent
• Tom Franklin, Think Global's CEO
