Knowing the audience: Survey Findings on International Development Sector Attitudes to Development Education and Research on Public Attitudes

This research, published by the Global Poverty Project and Think Global, highlights that the international development sector see development education as fundamental to building support for the government’s vision of a ‘big society’ globally as well as locally.

Knowing the audience highlights that many within the sector are concerned about declining public support for development in the next few years, and see development education as key to reversing this trend. The report makes a series of recommendations to ensure that the sector collectively can continue to educate the public about global issues and international development, and to ensure that we continue to produce regular, reliable public attitudes data to measure the impact of this education.
