British Values; Whose Values? DECs conference 2016

Consortium of DECs (CODEC) conference. The theme of the conference is ‘British Values; Whose Values?’ and will include a range of exciting keynote speakers and workshops delivered by global education experts across the network.
This year’s conference will enable us to explore ideas, practices and challenges around the concept of British values, migration and refugees, identity, and responses within the context of the Prevent agenda.
Keynote speakers:
- Robin Richardson, specialist in multi-cultural education, consultant and ex-Chief Inspector of Schools
- Dr Abdullah Sahin, Reader in Islamic Education, University of Warwick
Workshops:
- Storytelling for Change – global awareness and social justice
- British Values peer education project with secondary and special schools
- Working with refugees and raising awareness about refugees, GLP approved CPD, MEP decision-making simulation
- Contemporary artists from the Majority World – identity, migration and refugees
- Using P4C
